Feeding Out

There is a FEED here!

There is a FEED here!

Everything must feed here, no exceptions. Predators often group kill for a feed. Prey animals, on the other hand, must still find food for themselves, which means migrating, at times, to survive. Humans have migrated as well – at some point in time, humans developed a need to feed on a psychological diet. Nowadays, you can dine out, physically, and experience many kinds of food.

There is a dependency that has developed which includes trust on a broad scale. We have learned about the dangers of trusting others with our food, the same may be true of the information we allow to flow into our minds. How can we exercise caution when a smorgasbord of mental feeding is available? How does one know what to allow psychologically?

As a child, I had no idea just how influential the mass media would be.  I can still recall catchy songs from the commercials along with the billions of symbols and scenarios I heard and saw that dictated to my conscience what was right/wrong and good/bad. I relied upon these concepts and constructs to make sense of my world. I trusted that what I learned from the perceptions of others was actually true and I didn’t need to doubt it – sometimes with disastrous results!

I am far less trusting and more discerning these days of information flowing to me from TV, the internet,  Facebook, movies, books, music, relationships and their dramas, religious beliefs, causes, cultural movements, governmental actions, and etc.

When we “dine out” we literally abdicate our responsibility for our diet to the hands and hearts of those that prepare the feed for us. Psychologically, our feed  has become as critical to what we allow to define us as what our physical diet does to define our bodies. This takes me to how we can become dependent upon specialized information diets.

There is a feed going on, in fact, there are billions of micro feeds going on, serving up poisonous thoughts that block or muddy the positive in us. Could it be that we are being  intentionally subjected to a diet that advocates separation in order to divide and conquer? People are more vulnerable on their own. This might include the dividing of families, couples, relationships, traditions, basic beliefs and principals, hearts and minds, etc.

People will feed! There can be the kind of diet that connects and nurtures the world. Whatever strength of mind and heart you have extended to help the world and its people to adopt new ideas of love and cooperation, increase that energy flow NOW with the power of your mind and heart. Create a diet of connection and oneness that is so tempting and delicious none will be able to resist.
